It has been said that a writer should, "write from the scar, not from the wound." But I believe the act of writing can help 'heal' wounds. My philosophy is that writing from the raw or unadulterated pain heals as much as it connects us to those suffering or healed.
Whether writer or reader, whether a poem, an essay, or a book, words are humanity's map to a safer place, an escape to the island of fulfillment, a bookmark for the meaning and purpose of life.
The power of words is so much more than we imagine. Language is a form of electricity. Prose is energy spelled out. What inspires us touches us deep within, and we carry what touches us deeply to the ends of this Earth, perhaps beyond!
